Presenting The Space 2.0 Project at MosBuild 2020
03.02.2020

See the smart home project live at this year’s MosBuild

Last year, renowned Russian industrial designer Vladimir Pirozhkov held a competition among students and aspiring designers to design a concept for the Space of the Future - Space 2.0 project. Among a very high calibre of entries, the winners were Daria Mikhailova and Anna Talalaeva from the Moscow British Higher School of Design.

This concept by Vladimir Pirozhkov and his students led to the Houses of the Future architectural project, developed by one of the most high-profile young Russian design bureaus – Citizenstudio – by Mikhail Beilin and Daniil Nikishin, gold winners at the Russian Youth Architectural Biennale and designers of one of the projects for the Russian pavilion at the 16th International Architecture Biennale in Venice.

MosBuild 2020 will present this residential module of 70 square meters – a transformable space that can be zoned based on the home-owner’s needs. The project includes a residential unit combining a kitchen and a work space, a hygiene and health unit and a ‘sleeping capsule’.

According to the designers, the project will showcase technologies of the future that are actively used in residential design today, many of which will be provided by MosBuild’s exhibitors. In essence, the project is a study of modern technological trends.
The management of the house will be fully automated, with an integrated ‘smart home’ system allowing flexible lighting and temperature control in the different zones. The house has recycling and security systems and plans for a home farm for growing food.

Visitors to Space 2.0 will be able to get up close and personal and test all the technology. Three times a day throughout MosBuild, technicians will conduct tours of the house. While it can be visited at any time, the house’s entire set of tech solutions will only be available on the tours.

The project will be accompanied by a lecture series on an open content platform next to the house. Project participants will discuss their innovative technologies and materials provided for the house. Those already confirmed include Miele, Tikkurila, Laufen, and Technologico.

The Space 2.0 project is now open to manufacturers and suppliers of innovative materials, technologies and services looking to integrate their solutions into the house of the future at Mosbuild 2020. Following MosBuild, a 3D virtual tour of the home will be created, which project partners can obtain and demonstrate to their customers.
